Workload Evaluation Method

On This Page

The Workload Evaluation Method field defines how user workload is calculated for Load Balance routers and Workload Capacity limits. You can follow these steps to change the Workload Evaluation Method on a router:

  1. Create a new router or edit an existing one.
  2. Scroll to the Router Members step and click Member Settings.
  3. Select one of the following options from the Workload Evaluation Method field:
METHODDESCRIPTION
Count Active RecordsWorkload is calculated by adding up the number of active records a user owns.
Total Active Workload ValueWorkload is calculated by summing up a numeric field from the record being assigned. You can choose which field should be used for workload by navigating to the Workload Settings and editing the Workload Value Field.

This option is useful if you want to assign different workloads to records based on the estimated level of effort. For example, you might create a formula field labeled “Workload Score” that returns a score from 1-10 based on the lead source, industry, etc.
Reference User FieldWorkload is calculated by summing up a numeric field on the User object. This allows you to calculate workload across multiple objects. You can choose which field should be used for calculating workload in the Member Settings by editing the User Workload Field.

For example, you might select a User field that totals the number of active Leads and Cases in order to determine the user’s workload.
Select the "Workload Evaluation Method" from member settings.

Things to keep in mind

  • Blank values in the Workload Value Field will be treated as zeroes.
  • Decimals will be ignored when calculating workload based on a User Workload Field.
