Notification Methods
Kubaru offers a variety of methods to notify users of new assignments. All notification types except for Chatter and Slack are enabled by default when you install Kubaru.
Email Notifications
Users receive an email notification from Salesforce for each new assignment. You can customize which fields are included in the email.
Lightning Notifications
Lightning Notifications are available in Version 4.0 and up
Adds a new message to the notifications section of Lightning Experience for each assignment.
Mobile Notifications
Mobile Notifications are available in Version 4.0 and up
Adds a message to the notifications section of the Salesforce1 mobile app. See Mobile Notification Setup for more details.
Toast Notifications
Toast Notifications are available in Version 5.6 and up
Displays a toast message at the top of any Lightning page when an assignment is received. This notification will only be displayed while using the Kubaru Utility.
Push Notifications
Push Notifications are available in Version 5.6 and up
Displays a popup notification in the corner of the screen, regardless of what the user is doing on their computer. This notification will only be displayed while using the Kubaru Utility. Note: see Push Notifications Not Working if these are not working.
Chatter Notifications
Chatter Notifications are available in Version 5.6 and up
Posts a chatter message to the assigned record with an @ mention of the assigned user so it’s brought to their attention. Chatter notifications are only available for objects with feed tracking enabled. Depending on your settings, chatter messages may also result in email and lightning notifications to users.
Slack Notifications
Slack Notifications are available in Version 5.6 and up
Sends a Slack direct message to the assigned user. See Slack Integration Setup for instructions on how to set up this integration.
Sound Notifications
Sound Notifications are available in Version 5.6 and up
Plays a sound to notify the user of a new assignment (or available shark tank records). Users can control the volume and type of sound played. This notification can only be received while using the Kubaru Utility. Note: see Sound Notifications Not Playing if these are not working.
Enable or Disable Notifications per User
Follow these steps to enable or disable notification for one or more users:
- Navigate to the Kubaru Console.
- Click on the Kubaru Members tab.
- Click View Details next to the user you want to edit.
- Modify the notification settings as desired.
- Click Save Changes.
Enable or Disable Notifications per Router
Follow these steps to enable or disable notifications for one or more routers:
- Navigate to a Kubaru Router and click Edit.
- In the Assignment Notifications section, modify the settings as desired.
- Click Save.
Enable or Disable Notifications Globally
Available in Version 3.4 and up
Follow these steps to enable or disable notifications globally:
- Navigate to the Kubaru Console.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Modify the notification settings as desired:
- Enabled: the notification will be enabled for all users.
- Disabled: the notification will be disabled for all users.
- Enabled, users can override: the notification will be enabled by default, but users can disable it from the Kubaru Utility.
