TRUSTED BY
Stop building workarounds for custom object routing
Routing should work the same way across Salesforce, regardless of the record you’re assigning. Kubaru gives you one place to automate assignment for every standard and custom Salesforce object, so you can keep routing consistent across your Salesforce environment.
Route accounts, opportunities, tasks, and custom objects
Kubaru can assign any standard or custom Salesforce object. Whether you’re routing renewal opportunities to account managers, distributing tasks across a support team, or assigning custom objects specific to your business process, the setup works the same way.
Use the same routing logic everywhere
Round robin, weighted distribution, territory-based routing, skill matching, workload balancing, and availability checks all work the same regardless of the object type. You don’t need to build separate automation for each object or maintain different tools for leads versus everything else.
Manage all your routing in one place
Keep all your routing rules together in a single interface. Update assignment across different Salesforce objects without switching between Flows, Apex, or native assignment rules.
Supercharge your custom object routing with these additional features
Round Robin
Distribute any Salesforce object evenly across your team using standard rotation, or use weighted round robin to give specific reps a larger share based on experience, capacity, or ramp status.
Territory Management
Assign records based on the territories you define, including countries, states, ZIP codes, or custom regions.
Skill-Based Assignment
Match records to reps based on product expertise, language, industry knowledge, or any custom skill you define, so each record reaches someone with the right context to act on it.
Weights and Limits
Set caps on how many active records each rep can carry at a given time, and Kubaru will automatically skip overloaded reps and route to the next person with available capacity.
Duplicate Matching
Keep related records with the same owner by routing duplicates to the rep who already manages the original record.
Reassignment
Set time-based rules that automatically move unworked records to the next available rep, so nothing sits idle because the original owner is busy, out of office, or hasn’t followed up.

Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't Salesforce let you create assignment rules for custom objects?
What kinds of custom objects do teams typically route with Kubaru?
It varies by industry. We’ve seen teams route onboarding tasks, service requests, project records, insurance claims, loan applications, partner referrals, and internal approval records. Anything with an owner field that needs to reach the right person can be routed.
How is routing a custom object different from routing a lead?
From Kubaru’s side, it isn’t. The setup process, routing methods, and available features are identical. You create a router, define your criteria, choose your distribution method, and Kubaru handles the assignment. The only difference is which object the router is attached to. You can see the full list of what’s available on our features page.
What happens if I add a new custom object later?
You can create a new router for it at any time. There’s no limit on how many routers you can run, and adding a new one doesn’t affect your existing routing setup.
Can I route a custom object using fields from a related record?
Yes. Kubaru can evaluate fields on the record itself or on related records through Salesforce lookups. For example, you could route a custom service request based on the account’s territory or the contact’s language preference using skill-based assignment.
Do I need a developer to set up custom object routing in Kubaru?
The interface is the same one business users use for lead and case routing. You can create and update custom object routers without Salesforce admin privileges or developer support.
Will routing custom objects slow down my Salesforce instance?
Kubaru is 100% native to Salesforce and runs within the platform’s processing framework. It doesn’t add external API calls or sync processes, so it doesn’t introduce the performance overhead you’d see with a non-native tool. You can learn more about how we handle this on our security page.
Can I track assignment history for custom objects?
Yes. Kubaru logs every assignment for every object type, including custom objects. Each log entry records who the record was assigned to, when it happened, and which routing rule made the decision. This gives you an audit trail that Salesforce doesn’t provide natively for custom objects, which is especially useful for teams in regulated industries where you need to show why a record was handled by a specific person.
Can I enforce SLAs on custom objects?
Yes. Kubaru’s Advanced SLA feature works on any Salesforce object, not just cases. You can define SLA policies with their own timers and success conditions, then attach escalation actions like reassignment, field updates, and Slack notifications when deadlines are approaching or missed. For example, you could set a 4-hour SLA on a custom onboarding task and have Kubaru reassign it automatically if nobody picks it up in time.
Is there a free trial available for Kubaru?
Yes. You can start a 30-day free trial from our AppExchange listing. All features are included, with no credit card required.
