Follow these steps to install and activate Kubaru in your Salesforce org:

Step 1: Install Kubaru

Kubaru can be installed directly from the Salesforce AppExchange. See Installing Kubaru for detailed instructions.

Step 2: Assign licenses to admin users

You can skip this step when installing Kubaru in a sandbox. Licenses are automatically assigned to all users when installing in a sandbox.

Users must be assigned a package license before they can administer the Kubaru application. Follow these steps to assign a license to one or more users:

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. Search for “Installed Packages” and click on the link.
  3. Click Manage Licenses next to Kubaru.
  4. Click Add Users.
  5. Select the users you’d like to add and click Add.

It’s not necessary to assign a license to users that will be receiving assignments. These users will automatically be assigned a license when they’re added as a member of a router.

Step 3: Assign permission sets to users

Next you’ll need to grant users the permissions necessary to use Kubaru.

Kubaru Administrators

The Kubaru Administrator permission set must be assigned to any users that will be administering Kubaru:

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. Type “Permission Sets” in the Quick Find box, then click on Permission Sets.
  3. Click on the Kubaru Administrator Permission set.
  4. Click the Manage Assignments button.
  5. Click the Add Assignment button.
  6. Check the box next to one or more users and click Next.
  7. Click Assign.

Kubaru Users

The Kubaru Users permission set group must be assigned to users that will receive assignments from Kubaru:

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. Type “Permission Set Groups” in the Quick Find box, then click on Permission Set Groups.
  3. Click on the Kubaru User permission set group.
  4. Click the Manage Assignments button.
  5. Click the Add Assignment button.
  6. Check the box next to one or more users and click Next.
  7. Click Assign.

See User Permissions for more details.

Step 4: Activate Kubaru

The user that activates Kubaru will automatically be set as the Running Kubaru User. We strongly recommend that the running user be a system administrator to ensure that Kubaru runs properly.

Assignments will not be made until Kubaru has been activated. Ready to start assigning records? Follow these steps to activate Kubaru:

  1. Select Kubaru from the App Launcher menu.
  2. Click the Kubaru Console tab.
  3. Click the Settings tab within the console.
  4. Flip the Kubaru Enabled switch to “On”.
